Terms of Service
Effective date:
Welcome aboard Black Sail Academy! These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain the rules for using blacksail.academy, creating an account, and subscribing to our newsletter (together, the "Services"). Please read them before signing up and using our Services.
1. Who provides the Services?
Black Sail Academy is operated by Black Sail Division in Poland, tax identification number (NIP) 5482617350 ("we", "us", "our").
Black Sail DivisionMolczyn 17, Leszna Gorna
43-445 Dziegielow

You can contact us about the Services, these Terms, complaints, or ending your agreement at contact@blacksail.academy or at the postal address above.
2. Technical requirements and security
To use the Services, you need:
- A device with internet access and a current, supported web browser.
- JavaScript enabled for interactive features, including forms and security checks.
- Cookies enabled where needed for account sessions and form security.
- An email address you control to register an account or receive the newsletter.
Blocking scripts, necessary cookies, or security checks may prevent some features from working. Please contact us if you experience an access or accessibility problem.
Online services can be exposed to phishing, malware, and unauthorized access. Keep your browser and operating system updated, use a unique password, and protect access to your email account. We will never ask you to send us your password by email.
3. Your Black Sail Academy account
To register, complete the sign-up form with an email address you control and a password that meets the requirements shown on the form, and accept these Terms. The account agreement starts when we successfully create your account and show you the registration confirmation or email verification page. It continues until you or we end it under these Terms.
Follow the verification link sent to your email address. Features that require a verified email address remain unavailable until verification is complete. An account only provides the features currently available on the website.
Provide accurate information and contact us if information needed to administer your account changes. Keep your login details confidential, do not share or transfer your account, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for your own actions and for taking reasonable care of your credentials; you are not automatically responsible for every action taken by someone who gains unauthorized access.
We may send messages needed to operate your account, such as verification, security, and service notices.
4. Newsletter
The newsletter contains course announcements, learning updates, and promotional information about Black Sail Academy. You subscribe by submitting the newsletter form with your email address and the separate consent requested there. The newsletter agreement starts when the website confirms that your subscription was successful and continues until you unsubscribe or we end the service under these Terms.
Subscribing is optional and is not required to create an account. You can withdraw your marketing consent and unsubscribe at any time, free of charge, using the unsubscribe link in a newsletter email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not close your account.
5. Using the Services fairly
You must not use the Services to:
- Submit unlawful content, infringe someone else's rights, impersonate another person, or send spam.
- Distribute malware, interfere with the website, or deliberately overload our infrastructure.
- Access another person's account or private data without permission.
- Bypass authentication, access restrictions, or security controls, or automate abusive registrations.
- Copy, redistribute, or sell protected materials without a license or other legal permission.
Automated access must respect access restrictions and must not impair the Services or collect personal data unlawfully. Nothing in these Terms limits activities that applicable law expressly permits. If you discover a security issue, report it to us without accessing other people's data or disrupting the Services.
6. Educational materials and intellectual property
The website, branding, text, illustrations, videos, and other original materials belong to us or our licensors. Access to the Services does not transfer ownership of those rights. You may view publicly available materials and use them for your own learning, subject to any license stated with a particular resource and to uses permitted by law.
Permission to reuse downloadable resources or code examples in other projects is governed by the license supplied with them. Third-party and open-source materials remain subject to their own licenses. You may link to our public pages, but must not imply that we endorse you or your products without our permission.
Our materials support learning. They do not promise a particular job, income, qualification, or learning outcome. Results depend on your practice and circumstances. This does not limit our responsibility to provide the Services as agreed.
If you believe material on our website infringes your rights, email us with the page address, a description of the material and your rights, and a way to contact you.
7. Privacy and external services
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data, use necessary cookies and security services, and handle privacy requests. Accepting these Terms does not provide consent to optional marketing or waive your data protection rights.
The website may link to external resources and our social media profiles. When you use another provider's website, that provider's terms and privacy policy apply to its services. Linking to a resource does not transfer our obligations to that provider.
8. Ending an agreement or restricting access
You can stop browsing at any time. You can also end your account agreement or newsletter agreement at any time, without a notice period or cancellation fee. To close your account, email us from the address associated with it. We may ask for proportionate information to verify the request, but never your password. We will confirm closure by email. To end the newsletter agreement, use its unsubscribe link or contact us.
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a breach of section 5, compromised credentials, a concrete security threat, or a legal requirement. Restrictions will be proportionate to the issue. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will explain the reason by email and give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve the problem before ending your account agreement. We may need to impose restrictions immediately to prevent harm or comply with the law.
We may end an account agreement for a serious breach or a repeated breach that continues after a warning. If we permanently discontinue the free account or newsletter service, we will give affected users at least 30 days' notice by email, unless a binding legal requirement makes that impossible. Any shorter notice will explain the reason.
Closing an account ends access to its features. Ending an agreement does not remove rights or claims that have already arisen. Personal data is handled according to our Privacy Policy and applicable law. Newsletter cancellation is separate from account closure.
9. Problems, complaints, and consumer rights
If a Service does not work as agreed, contact us by email or post using the details in section 1. Please describe the problem, when it occurred, the affected feature, the outcome you request, and how we can reply. Screenshots can help, but do not include passwords or unnecessary personal data.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights. Where the Polish Consumer Rights Act applies to digital content or digital services, you can require us to supply a missing Service or bring it into conformity with the agreement, free of charge, within a reasonable time and without undue inconvenience. You may end the agreement in the circumstances provided by law. These protections also apply to eligible sole traders where Polish law grants them consumer protections.
10. Availability and responsibility
We will provide the Services with reasonable care and skill. Maintenance, updates, or technical incidents may temporarily interrupt access. Where reasonably possible, we will announce planned interruptions in advance and work to restore affected features promptly.
We are responsible for performing our obligations under these Terms and applicable law. We do not exclude liability for intentional misconduct, personal injury, or any matter for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded. The fact that the current Services are free does not remove your statutory rights or our responsibility for a failure to meet our obligations.
11. Changes to the Services and these Terms
We may change ongoing free Services or these Terms where reasonably necessary to comply with a change in law or a binding authority decision, address a security risk, adapt to changes in browsers or essential technical dependencies, or introduce or improve features. Changes will be limited to what the stated reason justifies and will not introduce charges under an existing free agreement.
The effective date at the top of this page identifies this version of the Terms.
12. Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of protection under mandatory laws of your country of habitual residence where those laws apply. The courts with jurisdiction are determined by applicable law; these Terms do not require consumers to bring claims exclusively in Poland.
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the applicable legal rules take its place, and the remaining Terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Please contact contact@blacksail.academy if you have questions about these Terms or need help with the Services.
